Meta business verification button missing or greyed out: what to check

If verification is missing or greyed out, first check the selected business and your permissions. Then check its status in Security Center. Before gathering the documents again, find out whether you can start an application at all.

The main guide: Meta business verification.

Missing access to a process is not a rejection

Meta’s verification instructions say the process can start in Business Suite when the portfolio is eligible. Security Center is part of that flow. Check whether starting is available before preparing another set of documents.

Also identify what is being verified. Legal business details, a person’s identity, a domain and Meta Verified involve different processes. The word “verification” on its own is not enough.

Check four things

  • The selected business name and ID match the product showing the request.
  • Your permissions allow the relevant action; confirm with the responsible administrator.
  • The current status: verified, under review, action required or not started.
  • The product that requested verification and its own official instructions.

If you manage several BMs, match the business ID in settings with the notification. The documents must belong to that company too.

Treat that table as a way to read the situation; the interface wording can differ. No new start button during an existing review does not automatically mean rejection.

Do not create extra problems to reveal a button

Creating an unrelated app or enabling an unnecessary product because an old guide says so can introduce more requirements. Start with a genuine use case and the official requirements for that product.

Ask which official route is available for this business and task. If starting is not currently offered, give the client that actual status rather than promising you can switch it on tonight.
