Meta business verification: company documents and a stronger account setup

Business verification needs company details, supporting documents and a way to confirm your connection to the business. I would start by checking the name, address and contacts. If the account details and documents do not match, you will have to fix the application.

Meta now calls the old BM a business portfolio. Below is the application process: where to start verification, what to upload and how to handle a rejection.

What are you verifying?

Meta describes business verification as a business check that may be needed for particular products and features. It is separate from a Meta Verified subscription or a profile badge.

After more than ten years in affiliate marketing, I put this kind of work into the broader account setup. Consistent company details, domain control and clear access make the business easier to operate. I would not attach a promised limit increase to one verification step.

What to prepare

ItemHave ready
Company nameLegal name matching the documents
Registration informationCurrent organisation details
Address and phoneAccurate information you can confirm
DocumentsOfficial documents accepted for your country and request
Contact accessAccess to the verification method offered to the business

Meta’s document guide refers to validating the legal name and official mailing address or phone number. Registration, licensing or tax documents may be relevant, depending on the country and requested check. Follow the list supplied for your company.

The website brand can differ from the legal company name. In legal business name, use the name on the document you are submitting.

Starting the verification

  • Select the correct business in Meta Business Suite.
  • Check that you have permission to manage the portfolio.
  • Open business verification or Security Center where available in your settings.
  • Start the offered flow and enter the company information.
  • Upload the requested documents and complete an available method of confirming your connection to the business.
  • Follow the application status and any further requests in the account.

Use Meta’s verification instructions for the current route. If the option is missing, check the selected business, permissions and availability. I would not create unrelated assets just to force a button into view.

If the application is rejected

Meta has separate pages for verification rejections and insufficient documents. Start with the reason shown for your case.

  • Compare the name and address in the form with the document.
  • Open the file and check readability, edges and essential fields.
  • Confirm that the document type suits the requested field.
  • Check access to the contact method you supplied.
  • Correct the issue before submitting again.

If the company moved or changed its name, prepare current documents and update the form. Do not edit the document to make the fields match.

After approval

I would check administrators, partners and payment permissions next, then domain ownership and two-factor authentication. That is the combined work I mean when discussing account strength.

The account security and domain checklist covers those steps. If payment terms are the goal, check credit line availability separately.

Questions and answers

Is this the same as Meta Verified?

No. This guide covers verification of a business in its portfolio, not a subscription badge.

Can any company document be used?

Use the document types Meta accepts for your country and specific request.

Does approval remove every advertising restriction?

No. Check the status of the individual advertising assets separately.

How long will it take?

Follow the timing and status shown for your application, including requests for more information.

Keep a copy of the submitted documents and check who receives the application emails. If Meta asks for clarification, you will have the files ready.
